Pakistan Govt announced to launch a ‘Tourism App’

Posted on September 27, 2023September 27, 2023 By Pakistan Analysis

The Pakistan government, on ‘World Tourism Day,’ announced its plans to launch a groundbreaking ‘tourism app’ to enhance the tourism industry in the country. Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Tourism, Wasi Shah, highlighted the app’s importance in providing one-click access to tourism-related information and promoting medical tourism.

The app, which will soon be available on the Google Play Store for Android users, aims to provide comprehensive information about tourist spots, transportation options, and various services. The government also expressed its commitment to promoting eco-tourism through public-private partnerships in regions with abundant tourist attractions.

Additionally, the government emphasized its focus on boosting the medical tourism industry by implementing favorable policies and engaging in public-private partnerships with healthcare organizations. These initiatives aim to make tourism a driver of economic growth and youth employment in the coming years.

Pakistan, with its diverse climatic zones and untapped tourist spots, is poised to become a prominent tourist destination. The government’s emphasis on eco-tourism aligns with its commitment to environmental conservation while managing tourist destinations.

Media and entertainment industry involvement in promoting tourism sites was also encouraged, with an emphasis on exploring and showcasing more tourist destinations. Stakeholders were urged to run awareness campaigns for cleanliness and ensure effective daily cleaning arrangements at tourist spots.

Furthermore, the government plans to use the app to facilitate direct communication between tourists and local businesses, boosting the local economy and encouraging exploration of lesser-known destinations.

The app offers features such as detailed information about tourist attractions, booking options for accommodations and transport, interactive maps, and virtual tours, making travel planning and navigation more accessible and enjoyable for both domestic and international tourists.

The launch of the ‘Pak Govt Tourism App’ is expected to revolutionize the tourism industry in Pakistan by providing convenience, boosting tourism and the local economy, enhancing safety and security measures for travelers, and promoting Pakistan’s rich cultural and natural heritage to a broader audience.
