Sharif College of Engineering and Technology (SCET) is affiliated with UET, Lahore, Pakistan. The Sharif Trust was founded by the late Mian Muhammad Sharif, a philanthropist, and industrialist. He was awarded the ability to run the business efficiently.
His first project was the Sharif Group, which began in 1937 in the steel industry. He migrated to Lahore, Pakistan in 1947 during the partition of the Indian subcontinent and had to resume his business.
The group soon emerged as a leader in Pakistan’s steel, textile, and sugar sectors. In addition to dismissing industrial concerns, he sought to establish and sponsor welfare schemes for the unsustainable population.

Admission Policy of Sharif College 2023
All concerned are hereby informed that the University of Engineering and Technology Lahore has changed its Admission Policy from Admission Cycle 2023.
The following is the formula for counting the total marks to determine the admission merit of the candidates of different categories.
In the case of an intermediate stream:
- Percentage number of the first year: 45% weight in overall merit.
- Matric Percentage Number: 25% overall in weight merit.
- UET Entry Test (ECAT) Percentage Number: 30% weight in overall merit.
- Note: ECAT is not required for BBA.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants are required to possess one of the subsequent qualifications, attaining a minimum of 60% overall marks or an equivalent grade. Additionally, candidates must secure a minimum of 60% marks or an equivalent grade in both Mathematics and Physics.
- HSSC (Pre-Engineering) including Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry.
- Completion of Three A-levels (Advanced Level General Certificate of Education) with Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry (D grade or higher in Mathematics and Physics) along with seven O-levels.
- Possession of an American or Canadian High School Diploma featuring Mathematics (including calculus), Physics, and Chemistry.
- Attainment of an International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma including Mathematics (including calculus), Physics, and Chemistry.
- Holding a B.Sc. degree with specialization in Physics and Mathematics.
- Successful completion of a three-year polytechnic diploma in the same discipline as the faculty applied for, from a Pakistani Board of Technical Education.
- For those who have completed HSSC (Pre-Medical) and also undertaken Additional Mathematics, a minimum of 60% marks in the subject is required.
Please note: Applicants with a background in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry are eligible for all programs. However, individuals who have studied Computer Science / Computer Studies instead of Chemistry in their HSSC or A-Level are only eligible to apply for the Computer Science program.
