
BIRMINGHAM: With three more medals from wrestlers, Pakistan’s medal tally at the ongoing Commonwealth Games 2022 in Birmingham has gone up to five so far.
On Friday, Pakistan’s star wrestlers – Zaman Anwar, Inam Butt and Inayatullah made the country famous.
Inayatullah Won Bronze Medal.
Inayatullah won the bronze medal in the men’s freestyle 65kg wrestling event, edging out his Scottish rival, Ross Connelly. He won the competition by technical superiority after three minutes and 59 seconds.
Inam Butt Won Silver Medal
Secondly, star wrestler Inam Butt won the silver medal in the men’s freestyle 86 kg event after losing to his Indian rival Punia in the final.
Zaman Anwar Won Silver Medal
The third medal went to Pakistani wrestler Zaman Anwar, who bagged the silver medal after the men’s freestyle 125 kg event final. He lost the match 2-9 to Canada’s Amarveer Dhesi after a tough contest.
Nooh Dastagir Won Gold Medal
Earlier this week, Pakistani weightlifter Noah Dastgir Butt won gold for the country with a historic lift of 405kg, a Commonwealth record. Butt received a lot of praise from Pakistani including PM Shehbaz and Former PM Imran Khan.
Judoka Shah Hussain Won Bronze Medal
Pakistan’s first medal went to judoka Shah Hussain Shah, who won bronze earlier this week. He outclassed his South African rival in the 90kg category – his first 90kg event as he always played in the 100kg category.
